Takes its name from the special selection of American and European casks. Seventy to 80 years ago, Ian Hunter, the last family-member owner of the distillery, traveled to Bourbon County to identify new sources of casks that would provide greater consistency and new flavors. This new style of using bourbon barrels was later married with the distillery’s traditionally matured (European cask) Laphroaig. This is the history that’s celebrated with Select.
