Description
WHWC notes:” Limpid ruby color, a far cry from the opaque, Syrah-like hues of, for example, many 2018s. Striking aromatics: definitely red, as opposed to black, fruits: fraises des bois, wild strawberry, and a spiciness expressing itself in a piquant, cinnamon vein. Light on its feet, one could even call it ethereal; fine-boned with a discreet tannic frame; as it sits in the glass, it fills out and really starts to coat the palate. The finish—suggestive of raspberry coulis—is particularly impressive, lasting for nearly a full minute.” -David Russell, 7/27/21
The first buzz about Desaunay-Bissey on the internet chat boards began with tasting notes on their Beaumonts with posters referring to Bruno’s Beaux-Monts as “a perfect (non-Leroy) Vosne Romanee Beaux Monts…[one that] begs to be drunk and savored.” In fact, their Cellar Tracker’s community rating of 94 points remains the highest score among ALL Beaumonts producers–of which there are many. Rated 93 points by William Kelley in 2015, the only vintage yet to be reviewed.
