Description
92-96 points Jasper Morris, MW: “Old vines all whole bunch for 40% by volume, younger vines destemmed. A little more punching down here. Dense purple, a very lively colour after the previous two wines. 70% new wood. Impressive density here, a little bit of the tartare style wood, then a good fresh grip to it, plenty of character for Clos Vougeot. Finishes on dry tannins, a bit from the oak. (Nov 2018)”
94 points Tim Atkin, MW (Decanter): “Thibault Liger-Belair used his highest ever amount of stems (40%) on this cuvée in 2017. Using fruit from two parcels, planted in 1944 and 1992, this is a dense, compact, serious grand cru red with sappy whole-bunch spice, balancing acidity and 60% new wood. Drinking Window: 2025-2030. (Oct 2018)”
