Description
94 points and ‘Cellar Selection,’ Wine Enthusiast: “[$76 list] This powerful wine is both rich and fruity. The flint soil of the vineyard gives a mineral edge to crisp white fruits that are finished with citrus flavors and a still-youthful tang. Drink the wine from 2021. Organic and biodynamic. Alcohol 13%. (Dec 2020)”
93 points Jeb Dunnuck: “The 2018 Sancerre Blanc Les Romains has more tart citrus and lime notes as well as a similar level of bright minerality. Medium-bodied, fresh, and elegant on the palate, it has great acidity, beautiful balance, and just a rich yet chiseled, precise style that’s joy to drink. (11/24/20)”
93 points WineDoctor: “Another well-known lieu-dit, south of the town, with flinty soils over limestone bedrock. These are the oldest Vacheron vines, propagated by sélection massale. Rather light and open, a delicately herby nose, with minty citrus fruits starts the ball rolling. It has an attractive balance on the palate though, fine-boned and lightly mineral, showing some real energy and lift here which is impressive for this vintage. This is a wine of vigour and minerality, and importantly it has some acidity too. A clean finish which holds up well. A very good style for the vintage, with the trademark incisive acidity which can so often define these wines. (Feb 2020)”
