Description
89-91 points Jeb Dunnuck (Wine Advocate): “Gauby’s 2014 Cotes du Roussillon Blanc les Calcinaires is an outstanding blend of Macabeu, Muscat, Vermentino and Chardonnay that’s raised all in foudre. Scheduled to be bottled in March, it has lots of pineapple, brioche, honeysuckle and white flower notes to go with a round, supple, yet still fresh and lively feel on the palate.(Apr 2015)”
50% Muscat, 30% Chardonnay, and 20% Macabeu. Calcinaires means limestone land in Catalan. Only indigenous yeasts used for fermentation with a short aging time in steel tank. Delicate aromas of orange blossom and apricot lead to more pronounced citrus flavours on the palate, with a squeeze of grapefruit to finish. Alcohol 12.0%.
