Description

91-94 points Fine Wine Review: “The sensational Pernand-Vergelesses Les Vergelesses has truffly aromas and is sensual and fleshy in the mouth with dark, truffly fruit. Don’t miss it if it comes your way. (Issue #125; 2009)”

90-92 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): “(from vines planted in ’76). An earthy, fresh and ripe nose that is highly layered while displaying a distinctly sauvage character to the mèlange of red and dark berry fruit aromas that precede the powerful, concentrated and vibrant flavors brimming with minerality on the palate staining finish that is youthfully austere. This will need a few years to emerge from its shell but should be worth the wait. Drink: 2013+. (Apr 2009)”

91 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): “The Pavelot Vergelesses in 2007 is outstanding, and again is a very elegant rendition of its terroir. The bouquet offers up a lovely blend of black cherries, black raspberries, espresso, soil tones and a gentle framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is fullish, deep and very pure, with a sappy core of fruit, supple tannins and a long, tangy and well-balanced finish. Another excellent 2007 chez Pavelot. 2013-2030+. (Jan/Feb 2009)”
