Felettig Chambolle-Musigny “Clos le Village” 2014

From a tiny plot next to the church sandwiched between Feusselottes and Les Cras, this is more structured than the “regular” Chambolle, with greater finesse and longevity.

91 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): “These are forty year-old vines, whereas those for the straight Chambolle are a bit closer to fifty these days. Nevertheless, the Clos le Village is just a touch more refined and precise on both the nose and palate than the above wine, delivering a really lovely bouquet of red and black cherries, chalky minerality, woodsmoke, mustard seed, rose petals and new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and tightly-knit out of the blocks, with a fine core, superb backend focus and vibrancy and a long, ripely tannic finish. This will just nose out the straight Chambolle in 2014, but both are excellent. 2022-2055. (Mar/Apr 2015)”
