Description

93 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): “The majority of the fruit for this village Puligny is from a section of the Chalumeaux Premier Cru, that was declassified as village when a former owner brought in topsoil from outside the appellation in 1975. The bunches are lightly crushed and gently pressed, before being vinified in mostly old casks. The result has a beautiful, lemony fruit, with hints of flint and beeswax, plus a luxurious texture that splits the difference between opulence and racy finesse. Drinking Window: 2021-2039. (Oct 2020)”

89-92 points Jasper Morris (Inside Burgundy): “Lemon and lime. This is really elegant, stands up well behind the Meursault Perrières, but more in a lemon-scented style than classic white flowers. Lean, tense, and pretty long. (Oct 2020)”

‘Outstanding,’ Allen Meadows (Burghound): “(this is 80% from declassified Les Chalumeaux with the remainder from Les Levrons and Boudrières). A much more floral suffused nose speaks mostly of ripe white orchard fruit, citrus and a gentle dollop of wood. The plump, round and beautifully textured flavors possess good punch that carries over to the complex and persistent if somewhat rustic finale. This isn’t a refined Puligny villages but it’s still attractive in its fashion. Drink: 2024+. (Jun 2021)”
