Description
A deep purple/red hue, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley has the addition of a small amount of Malbec and Merlot and is the culmination of what does not go into their top-tier wines. Both red and black fruit shine in its lovely aromatics, with notes of black raspberries, redcurrants, vanilla, sweet herbs, and candied violets. The palate is full and lush, with ripe tannins and a coating texture, but it never feels heavy and has a kiss of ripe fruit through the finish. It’s a generous Cabernet with a bit of a confected feel, but it’s quite appealing. Drink over the coming 15 years. It saw 18-20 months in all French oak barrels. 92 Points Jeb Dunnuck
