Description
Made up of 60% grenache from 114-year-old vines in Cristia Haut lieu-dit and 40% mourvèdre from 55-year-old vines in the southeast part of the appellation. The vines grow in a sandy clay soil with eastern exposure. It’s aged in 40% new barrels, 40% one-year old barrels and 20% two-year old barrels.
Its ruby/plum hue is followed by a beautiful nose of mulled red and black fruits, roasted garrigue, ground pepper and lavender. With medium- to full-bodied richness, a plush, layered mouthfeel, evolved tannins and a great finish, it’s a beautiful representation of the vintage.
