Description

97+ points Erin Brooks (Wine Advocate): “The 2019 Pinot Noir Old Vines comes from Wadenswil clone vines planted in 1970, and it was matured in barrel for 20 months. Medium garnet, it has a distinct mineral character, with tones of flint and iodine complementing spicy cranberry and blackberry preserves. The palate is silky and layered, with intense, dark red fruit and a very long, flavorful finish. It’s got some inherent power that will allow it to develop well in bottle. Drink: 2022-2037. (Dec 2021)”

95 points Josh Raynolds (Vinous): “Vivid ruby-red. A complex, sharply focused bouquet evokes fresh raspberry, boysenberry and Asian spices, along with a sexy floral nuance that gains strength with aeration. Sweet, seamless and incisive on the palate, displaying a deft blend of heft and focus to the concentrated red and blue fruit, floral pastille and spicecake flavors. Shows noteworthy energy on a subtly tannic, penetrating finish that hangs on with superb, floral-driven tenacity. For this vintage, the fruit for this bottling came entirely from the Maresh vineyard. Drink: 2024-2034. (Feb 2022)”
