Description
91+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): “The Simon Bize 2016 Grand Liards is a bit more reserved in profile that the les Bourgeots, but every bit as promising. The nose wafts from the glass in a youthful blend of cassis, bitter chocolate, roasted game, Savigny spices, stony soil and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and nicely structured, with a fine core, lovely focus and grip and a long, chewy, soil-driven and well-balanced finish. This will need some time, but will be excellent once it has blossomed properly. 2024-2060. (Nov/Dec 2017)”
