*** John Livingstone-Learmonth: “(80% Marsanne, 20% Roussanne (oldest 1960s, youngest 2010-11) from Le Clos (oldest vines), Chalaix, Calvaire on Les Côtes at Mauves (inc ex Guy Lantheaume vines) , Les Oliviers, young vines on Dardouille at Tournon, granite soils, used 228-litre oak cask fermented, raised 12-14 months, malo completed). pale yellow; the nose shows opulent strength, pineapple, tropical fruits, ripe peach, gives a big hit. The palate is a cocktail of oak, ripe white fruits, honey, apricot juice, vanilla. It’s a bit on the sunny side, towards excess influence from that. The close is a little droopy. This is fat wine with textured gras, destined for drinking à table. 13.5°. 2025-26 Dec 2019.”
