Description

90-93 points/’Sweet spot/Outstanding,’ Allen Meadows (Burghound): “(from a 1.7 ha parcel of vines planted in 1902). A riper and spicier nose is also more deeply pitched with its blend of liqueur-like dark raspberry, poached plum and plenty of humus-inflected earth. There is even better volume to the concentrated middle weight flavors as well as equally good delineation to the stony, sappy and lingering finish that also flashes a touch of youthful austerity. Moreover, the structure is notably firmer and this should amply reward 12 to 15 years of patience yet be approachable after only 5 to 7. Drink: 2030+. (Jan 2020)”

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): “A more open nose, less herbed, but less obvious notes to hold onto too. Bigger volume in the mouth, more complexity for sure, less composed and delicious than the Jarrons today but lots to find and a fine finishing texture too. Deeply impressive finishing! A wine that is invariably great, but only shows flashes of that today. (5/29/19)”
