Description
93+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): “The vineyard of Beaux Monts can often be quite a black fruity example of Vosne (or Flagey, if one wants to be precise), but Monsieur Clavelier’s 2010 offers up really lovely red fruit tones to add to the aromatic fireworks this year. The deep and very classy nose jumps from the glass in a blend of raspberries, blood orange, black cherries, lovely minerality, bonfires, Vosne spices and cedar. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very, very transparent, with a sappy core of fruit, great minerality on the backend, ripe, suave tannins and beautiful
focus and balance on the very long and tangy finish. This is a beautiful bottle of Beaux Monts. 2020-2060. (Jun 2012)”
92+ points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): “[$175 list] Bright, deep red. Sappy aromas of medicinal cherry, plum and spiced bread. Lush, seamless and intense, with sweet dark fruit flavors energized by powerful minerality and limestone lift. In a distinctly virile style, this wine saturates the palate on the very long, sappy finish. I’d give it seven or eight years in the cellar. (Mar 2013)”
92 points Fine Wine Review: “The Vosne-Beaux Monts has dark fruit with minerality, length, and finesse. I think it’s best drinking is likely to be 2020-2040. (Issue #141; 2014)”
