Description
93 points Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2022: “Since their installation in 1995 in the Pic St.-Loup zone, Christophe Peyrus annd Françoise Julien have continued their experience at a steady pace, essential to grasping all the nuances of their terroirs. The work done in the vineyard, the very high-quality plant material and a higher planting density have contributed to improving the finesse of the estate…In red, the l’Olivette is a charming wine that distills notes of peony, violet, and tapenade. It embodies all the elegance of Pic St.-Loup with fine, smooth substance.”
Importer’s notes: 40% Grenache, 40% Syrah, 20% Mourvèdre. Black fruit with some blue notes pervade this unctuous wine. Tannins are present, ripe and very well coated by the thick sweet middle. Great precision and length draws you back for more. Very impressive for the base wine! 1/3 new oak, 2/3 neutral barrels.
