Description
100% Melon de Bourgogne. This plot is one of the historical treasures of the Luneau family. It rises up between two villages and has a river running through it. Officially part of the village of Vallet, the plot lies at the top of a hillside forming a 500-meter wide vein of granite that descends gently into the gneiss of the village of Le Landreau. Vines were planted in 1984. Pressed with whole clusters, ambient yeast fermentation, aged for 10-12 months in terracotta amphoras and underground glass-lined tank, no racking during aging, no fining or filtration, SO2 added at bottling.

Melon de Bourgogne
Melon de Bourgogne is a white grape variety originally from Burgundy, France, where it was historically cultivated. However, it is now predominantly associated with the Muscadet region in the Loire Valley. This grape is best known for producing Muscadet wines, which are renowned for their crisp acidity, minerality, and subtle citrus flavors. Muscadet wines made from Melon de Bourgogne are typically light-bodied with a bone-dry profile, making them incredibly refreshing and perfect for pairing with seafood, especially oysters. What makes Melon de Bourgogne unique is its ability to reflect its terroir, particularly the maritime influence of the Atlantic Ocean in the Muscadet region. This grape thrives in the cool climate and rocky soils of the area, producing wines that are zesty, with a distinct saline minerality that adds to their appeal. Muscadet made from Melon de Bourgogne is a quintessential choice for lovers of crisp, dry white wines.
