Description

92+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): “The 2018 Kirschheck Spätlese from Weingut Dönnhoff is another excellent example of the vintage. The wine is pure, very floral in personality and quite expressive out of the blocks, offering up scents of white cherries, pears, bee pollen, slate and a topnote of spring flowers. On the palate the wine is pure, fullish, vibrant and beautifully detailed, with racy acids, good mineral undertow and a long, refined and complex finish. 2019-2050+. (Mar/Apr 2019)”

92 points Stephan Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): “The 2018 Norheimer Kirschheck Riesling Spätlese is clear, fresh and flinty on the deep nose, where ripe stone fruit (vineyard peach), raspberry and crushed stone aromas are displayed. Round and salty-piquant on the palate, this is a racy, terribly fresh and stimulating Spätlese whose acidity is really kicking and racy enough to balance this ripe and almost voluptuous wine with ease and joy. A classic. Drink: 2022-2038. (Oct 2019)”

92 points David Schildknecht (Vinous): “Ripe pear is garlanded in buddleia and mint on a fetching nose that also features a whiff of wet stone. The palate impression is succulently fruity and caressingly polished. Liquid florality seductively enhances a lusciously lingering finish that is enlivened by a squeeze of fresh lime. Drink: 2020-2032. (Jun 2020)”

91 points Wine Spectator: “Beautifully expressive, displaying intensity and concentration, richness and harmony, with peach and quince flavors underscored by vibrant acidity and a mineral character on the long finish. Best from 2021 through 2031. 260 cases imported. (3/31/20)”
