Description
93+ points Luis Gutiérrez (Wine Advocate): “The 2017 El Manzano (also sold as Finca Mosquita Muerta Malbec outside of the US) is from the same vineyard as the 2016 vintage. It’s a sleek, powerful and elegant Malbec with good concentration, varietal aromas of violets and ripe cherries without excess. It has great purity and a medium to full-bodied palate, a little riper than the 2016 but with the same tannins and very tasty flavors, keeping very good freshness in a riper vintage. These wines are matured in concrete eggs, and none of them see any oak. 4,000 bottles were filled in March 2018. Drink: 2019-2024. (Oct 2019)”
92 points James Suckling: “Rich blackberries, creme de cassis, wet stones and iodine. Bold, ripe flavors and tightly wound tannin. There is also a whiff of violets coming through on the palate. Drink or hold. (4/2/20)”
