Description

94 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): “The 2017 Corton-Renardes Grand Cru wafts from the glass with a complex bouquet of cherries, raspberries, forest floor, warm spices and a deft application of cedary new oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered, with a deep and concentrated core of fruit, framed by racy acids and powdery tannins. The finish is long and penetrating. Unusually approachable for a Gaunoux Renardes, this is nonetheless constructed for a long and rewarding life. Drink: 2025-2045. (Jan 2020)”

93 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): “(from a .63 ha parcel). A slightly cooler nose is composed by notes of essence of red berries, spice, earth and a whiff of the sauvage. The delicious, intense and rich medium weight plus flavors exude evident minerality on the beautifully well-delineated, muscular and impressively long finale. This is already displaying very good depth, and more should almost certainly develop over the next 10 to 20 years. Drink: 2032+. (Apr 2020)”
