92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): “The 2014 Domaine Huët Vouvray Pétillant is absolutely superb and offers up very good value in the world of sparkling wine prices. The bouquet is deep, pure and shows beautifully fruit tones of peach and quince to augment its fine base of chalky soil elements, spring flowers and an esthery topnote of bee pollen. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied and complex, with a very good base of soil, a lovely core of fruit, pinpoint bubbles and lovely balance and grip on the long and classy finish. Huët Vouvray Pétillant is a superb sparkling wine from Chenin Blanc, drawing grapes from all three vineyards (Le Haut-Lieu, Le Mont, and Clos du Bourg), as well as from other small parcels on the estate. Produced in the méthode traditionnelle, the second fermentation in bottle is started by adding a liqueur de tirage comprised of yeast and sugar at bottling. It possesses a fine nose with a lovely presence of minerals and honeycomb; pure and polished with great acidity and delicate bubbles.
