Description
91 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): “The 2016 Trés Girard was completely destemmed by Laurent Lignier and this was one of the later wines to finish up its malo, with it coming to a bubbling conclusion in July of 2017. The wine has turned out beautifully, delivering a superb and sappy bouquet of black cherries, plums, dark chocolate, gamebird, dark soil tones and a touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and very sappy in personality, with lovely elegance and breed, suave tannin and a long, tangy finish. Fine, fine AC. 2020-2060. (Nov/Dec 2017)”
89-92 points Fine Wine Review: “This wine is from grapes that Lignier purchases. The nose is pure with red and black raspberry fruit. The mouth has a bit of syrup quality to it, but still it is very fresh, direct, and energetic. No whole clusters on this wine. (8/6/19)”
