The 2013 Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru, which is blended with Mazoyères, has a precise, stony, wild hedgerow-scented bouquet that unfolds with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with sorbet-like freshness on the entry – such an animated Charmes-Chambertin in the making. There is impressive weight here but it retains superb finesse on the fig-tinged finish. This is a consummate Charmes-Chambertin.
