Matanzas Creek Alexander Valley Merlot

Description

The Alexander Valley Merlot red wine was hand picked and hand sorted then fermented on wood tanks giving the wines an extra roundness and resolved tannins. This red wine has aromas of red cherries, blackberries, cranberries with notes of black plums. There are also notes of mountain scrub, and salty black licorice. Nice drying tobacco leaf intertwine graphite notes. Firm structure with fine tannins, age worthy acidity, and a very long finish. The Alexander Valley Merlot was aged in 48% new French oak and was in barrel for 20 months. Here are Matanzas Creek we recommend, if possible, decant for 1/2 hour prior to serving and enjoying at 62-65 degrees Fahrenheit. We recommend pairing with grilled portobello mushrooms, charcuterie, chicken sausages or roasted pork loin.
