Description

95 points Josh Raynolds (Vinous): “Inky violet. Potent aromas of cassis, cherry preserves, incense and potpourri, plus oak spice and mineral topnotes. Alluringly sweet and concentrated, with a spine of smoky minerality supporting intense flavors of dark berry liqueur, bitter chocolate, cola and candied lavender. Youthful, slow-building tannins add shape and grip to an impressively long, juicy finish that echoes the dark berry and floral notes. Drink: 2025-2035. (Feb 2021)”

95 points/’Podium Award,’ Peñín Guide to Spanish Wine: “(tempranillo). Colour: very deep cherry. Nose: complex, expressive, spicy, mineral, black fruit. Palate: full-bodied, long, great length. (2021)”

92 points Luis Gutiérrez (Wine Advocate): “There is a red 2018 Tinto produced with Tempranillo that, in this first vintage, shows quite ripe and heady. It’s produced with Tempranillo from Fuentenebro, a high-altitude place that had mines and is rich in minerals. It’s a rich and powerful red that was fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured in 225- and 500-liter French oak barrels for 18 months. It’s very ripe and intense with marked tannins and pungent flavors combining black fruit and plenty of spice and toasted notes. It’s a full-bodied, powerful, ripe and generously oaked Tempranillo from Ribera. 16,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2020. Drink: 2022-2028. (Jun 2021)”
