This is as definitive, complex, and pleasurable as it gets for Chardonnay from this vineyard, showing a combination of stone and orchard fruits melded with a taught, firm, mineral structure, all framed with an earthy, moss-like note. White flowers, mint, citrus confit, sage and white orchard fruit. Justin Willet did a terrific job capturing all of the character of S&B in this very pretty and expressive Chardonnay. The 2018 is beautifully perfumed, but it also has terrific presence, with plenty of bright, saline notes to play off its natural richness. Drink: 2021-2028. (Aug 2020)”
