There is excellent volume and concentration to the big-bodied, intense and overtly muscular flavors that possess a velvety mid-palate that contrasts with the markedly austere, backward and very much built-to-age finish that offers impressive complexity. From a 0.3-hectare parcel planted in the 1960s, this vineyard is just below Damodes but foral and violets are the watchwords on the nose; the palate is elegant yet dense with ethereal perfume on the finish. Only four barrels produced. Next lowest pricing in the US is $180 on the 2017 and $195 on the 2016.
