Description
Bright red-ruby. Riper on the nose than the 2017 Felino Cabernet, offering scents of cassis, black cherry, dark chocolate, licorice and crushed herbs lifted by a violet topnote. A step up in sweetness and intensity as well but with no loss of energy as the Cabernet herbs energize the bitter chocolate and licorice flavors on the middle palate. I like the way the oak element adds sweetness without detracting from the wine’s fruit. Finishes with dusty tannins and good length, a note of dark raspberry emerging with air. This successful blend may even better next year.
