Description
John Gilman (View From the Cellar): “The 2020 Volnay old vines is a lovely wine- very bright and black fruity on both the nose and palate. The bouquet delivers scents of dark berries, cassis, espresso, gamebird, dark soil tones and just a touch of new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and nicely structured, with a very sappy core of fruit, ripe tannins and a long, tangy and promising finish. 2028-2060. (Nov/Dec 2021)”
Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): “(From 6 different parcels; mainly Grand and Petits Poisots, Gigotte, Pacquiers and Famines?. Just one new barrel – but that’s only 5% of the total). Lots of colour. A super nose, energy, depth, freshness. Supple, easier over the palate than the nose suggests – but open delicious – thats super. (Dec 2021)”
